We all yawn when we're tired, but who knew that it was actually good for us? In fact, it is essential for maintaining optimal brain health, says neuroscientist Andrew Newberg, MD, director of the Center for Spirituality and the Mind at the University of Pennsylvania.
Yawning triggers neural activity in parts of the brain that control its temperature and metabolism.
Newberg recommends yawning 10 times in a row per day. He claims that combining this ritual with a healthy lifestyle will help you relax more effectively than meditation, stay focus on important ideas and concepts, and generate more compassion and empathy for others.

Can we take controll over it? Can't remember a 10th time yawning...
But, it's another good news...
Thanks
Amir
Amir, Thanks for reading VG. I agree. I don't think I've ever yawned 10 times in a row, but I am making a conscious effort to yawn more now. It seems once I get started the rest comes naturally ;) Best, Deanne
Thanks, its a grate blog. Just Discover it. Unfortunately you won't be able to read my Hebrew blog, it's about children therapy...
I have tried yesterday to yawn more and so far it's happening! Will continue...
